Day 1
Haridwar – Jankichatti (7 Hours)
🚗 Drive 215 Km
On the way to Janki Chatti (2650 m.), we will enjoy a delicious lunch, which will be prepared by our own cook. On the paved road between Yamunotri and Jankichatti, there is a small town called Jankichatti. The Mandakini Hotel or a similar hotel at Jankichatti is the location for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2
Jankichatti – Yamunotri (Trek: 5 km)
Early in the morning, we begin our 5 km trek from Jankichatti to Yamunotri, the sacred source of the Yamuna River and one of the four holy shrines of Char Dham Yatra. Upon reaching Yamunotri, we will take a holy dip in the hot water spring (Surya Kund) and offer prayers at the Yamunotri Temple. After darshan, we trek back to Jankichatti for lunch and an overnight stay.
Day 3
Jankichatti – Uttarkashi (4 Hours)
After breakfast, we drive to Uttarkashi, a spiritual town situated on the banks of the Bhagirathi River. Uttarkashi is known for its ancient temples and serene ambiance. Upon arrival, we visit the famous Vishwanath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, and the Shakti Temple, which has a huge trident (Trishul) of Goddess Durga. The evening is free for relaxation and preparation for the next day’s journey. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 4
Uttarkashi – Gangotri (3 Hours)
We start early in the morning for Gangotri, the origin of the holy Ganges River. The drive passes through breathtaking Himalayan landscapes, lush green valleys, and scenic villages. Upon reaching Gangotri, we take a holy dip in the Bhagirathi River and visit the Gangotri Temple, dedicated to Goddess Ganga. After darshan and rituals, we explore the serene surroundings and later drive back to Uttarkashi for an overnight stay.
Day 5
Uttarkashi – Haridwar (6 Hours)
After breakfast, we begin our journey back to Haridwar, driving through the beautiful Garhwal Himalayas. On the way, we stop at Devprayag, the sacred confluence of Alaknanda and Bhagirathi Rivers, where they merge to form the holy Ganges River. Upon reaching Haridwar, our Yamunotri – Gangotri Yatra concludes with cherished spiritual memories.
